    PA Summer Fair June 2025

    Dear Parent/Carer
    The PA summer fair will be held on Friday the 27th of June from 3.30 to 5.30. We have lots of games planned for the children, along with the usual favourites, the tombola, bottle stall and the bar.

    Leading up the fair we will be asking for donations on the following days, the 19th of June, 25th of June and the 26th of June.

    Non uniform days will be held on the 19th of June and the 27th of June.

    Rainbow tombola – Please bring a donation in the following colour as classes below. Donations to be brought in to school on Thursday the 19th of June

    Apples and Rowan -something blue
    Elm and Beech- something Green
    Hazel and willow - something orange
    Maple and Hawthorn- something yellow
    Silver Birch and Oak -something red

    Your donation could be anything -sweets, snacks, biscuits, toiletries, stationary, games …

    Preloved Teddies- We will have a teddy adoption stall. Could we please have donations of pre-loved teddies on Thursday the 19th of June. We will be in the playground in our usual collection area.

    Preloved games -We also plan to run a preloved games stall. We would love any donations of board games, card games or jigsaws for all ages. Could these be brought to school on Wednesday the 25th of June. we will have our usual collection area in the playground.

    Bottle stall -Could donations be brought in to school on Thursday the 26th of June.

    Your donation can be anything that comes in a bottle. The non uniform day for this will be on the following day so, children are in their own clothes for the fair.

    Trans Pennine Trail May Half Term 2025

    We’re delighted to let you know that our latest Children’s activity pack is now available to download free, from the Trans Pennine Trail website in time for the half term break.

    Packed with engaging activities, kids can explore nature with a Rainbow Scavenger Hunt, create a journey stick, collecting treasures along their walks to create a unique keepsake, and make a delicious mug cake or an egg box bird feeder.

    The pack also includes a butterfly colouring page, a Word search, and the latest instalment of Mandy Mole’s adventure along the Trans Pennine Trail.

    It’s a fantastic way to keep little ones busy over the Half Term and to enjoy the beauty of the season!

    We’re also happy to send out printed copies to people who don’t have a printer or are unable to access the PDF. Email us your address to info@transpenninetrail.org.uk and we will post it out to you.

    Trans Pennine Trail Easter Edition 2025

    Trans Pennine Trail delighted to let you know that our latest Children’s activity pack is now available to download free, from the Trans Pennine Trail website.

    Once again, the pack contains lots of exciting holiday activities that will keep young minds entertained during the Easter break.

    Bursting with fun and engaging activities, they will be encouraged to embark on a Spring Scavenger Hunt and take part in a Great British Spring Clean litter pick challenge.

    They’ll be able to get creative by making Spring Lamb cupcakes and creating their own Easter Egg decorations while solving the Easter Word search and bringing vibrant colours to life with picture colouring before diving into the next instalment of Mandy Mole’s exciting adventure along the Trans Pennine Trail.

    It’s a fantastic way to celebrate Easter and the beauty of spring!

    FREE Easter activities for all the family

    Derbyshire Makes is a 3 year county programme of creativity, making and celebrating our towns. Glossop is one of 6 hubs with our own programme – come and take part!

    Everything is free and no need to book!

    PA Earth Day Collection April 2025

    Dear Parent/Carer

    WORLD EARTH DAY 22nd April

    For World Earth day this year we are asking for donations of used clothing and children’s books.
    The donated clothing will be collected by the ‘Donate clothes 4 Sammy project’. The project was launched by Leukaemia & Myeloma Research UK, it is a charity dedicated to finding cures for three major types of blood cancer.

    Sammy's mission is to protect the environment, fundraise for charity and raise funds for local schools.

    The following items of clothing can/can’t be recycled –

    What we DO accept

    Good quality adult and children’s clothes
    Bath and hand towels
    Bed linen, sheets, duvet covers & pillowcases
    Bras & Underwear with tags
    Paired, clean undamaged shoes
    Soft toys

    What we DON’T accept

    Dirty, ripped or broken items of clothing and underwear
    Duvets and pillows
    Blankets
    Broken and very worn unpaired shoes
    Work uniforms with company’s logo
    School uniforms

    We are waiting for a delivery of recycling bags from the Sammy Project, these will be sent home before the Easter break.

    We will have a collection station in the playground before and after school on the 22nd of April.

    Music Lessons In Glossop March 2025

    If you are looking for Music lessons in the local area, this may be an option for you.

    My name is Callum Laybourne and I work at a recording studio in Stockport that delivers music lessons (RubberSoul Studios). We have recently just opened up a branch in Glossop.

    I have 5 years’ experience teaching multiple instruments and genres across all ages with another 15 years’ experience in playing. I’ve fallen in love with teaching and I’m looking forward to branching out into the Glossop area.

    PA Easter Event April 2025

    Dear Parent/Carer

    The PA Easter event will be held after school on Tuesday the 1st of April. Please come along and enjoy some Easter fun.

    Easter Tombola
    To make the event successful we are asking for donations of chocolate or Easter treats for the tombola. There will be a non-uniform day on Friday the 28th of March in exchange for a donation for the tombola.
    Decorate a boiled egg and or an Easter Bonnet

    All children are invited to decorate a boiled egg and or an Easter bonnet. Entries to be brought into school on the day of the fair. Could we ask that all entries are clearly named including class, so we can make sure these can be handed back after the event.

    There are prizes available for the best bonnet and decorated egg in both KS1 and KS2
    Bake Sale

    We will also be holding a bake sale at the fair. If you are able to contribute some home baking for us to sell could you please send an email to Parents.association@simmondley.derbyshire.sch.uk all donations will be very much appreciated.
