SAFEGUARDING
* School is now closed and will not reopen until Thursday 5th September.*
How do I report a safeguarding concern in Derbyshire?
Simmondley Primary School fully recognises its responsibilities for Child Protection and Safeguarding.
Our Child Protection & Safeguarding Policy V14 sets out how the School will deliver these responsibilities.
This policy should be read in conjunction with:
Peer on peer abuse policy 2021
Working Together to Safeguard Children 2024 which is statutory guidance to be read and followed by all those providing services for children and families, including those in education.
Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023, which is the statutory guidance for Schools and Colleges.
What to Do if Worried a child is being Abused: Advice for Practitioners. March 2015.
Information Sharing: Advice for Practitioners providing Safeguarding Services to Children, Young People, Parents and Carers (July 2018)
Furthermore, we will follow the procedures set out by the Derbyshire Safeguarding Children’s Board: http://derbyshirescbs.proceduresonline.com/index.htm
Understanding and dealing with issues relating to parental responsibility (GOV.UK)
In accordance with the above procedures, the School carries out an annual audit of its Safeguarding provision (S175 Safeguarding Audit, which is a requirement of the Education Act 2002 & 2006) a copy of which is sent to the Local Authority Safeguarding Team.
